Every space filled · Shoppers welcome
Community Yard Sale
On the museum grounds · 1519 Locust Avenue, Bohemia
Every vendor space is spoken for, which means a full lawn of tables for you to walk. Household goods, antiques, collectibles, crafts and books, spread across the grounds of the Society’s museum for one Saturday in October. Bring a bag, bring some small bills, and make a day of it.
Every space rented and every raffle ticket sold helps the Bohemia Historical Society keep the museum open, the collection cared for and the town’s history in front of the people who live here.

Coming to shop
Come walk the rows on Saturday, October 10, any time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at 1519 Locust Avenue, Bohemia.
Admission is free
No ticket, no entry fee. Bring cash in small bills, since most vendors won’t be set up to take cards, and a bag or two for whatever comes home with you.
Getting here
The museum sits at 1519 Locust Avenue in Bohemia. Plenty of parking is available at the museum.
While you’re here
The museum will be open during the sale. Come in out of the sun, see the collection, and browse our books on Bohemia’s history.
The best finds go early, and the best bargains come after 2 p.m., when vendors would rather sell it than load it.
What you’ll find
- Household goods, furniture and kitchenware
- Antiques, collectibles and ephemera
- Books, records and vintage paper
- Handmade crafts, art and jewelry
- Toys, games, sporting goods and tools
- Clothing, linens and accessories

Raffle tickets
You don’t have to buy or sell a thing to take part. Raffle tickets are on sale now in the form below, and buying early costs you less per ticket.
How it works
Tickets are $1 each, with bulk bundles that bring the per-ticket price down. 25 tickets for $15 is the best of them. Buy them online below, or at the table on the day of the sale.
Winners are drawn at the sale. You do not need to be present to win.
Buy before the 10th
The discounted bundles are an early-purchase price. They come off sale at midnight the night before the sale. After that, tickets are $1 each at the table.

What to bring
Vendors supply everything they need. Nothing is provided on site:
- Tables, chairs and display racks
- Canopy, tarps and weights. October on Long Island can blow.

- Bags for shoppers, and plenty of small bills for change
Electricity is not provided and generators are not permitted. Plan for a day without power.
You’re responsible for the security of your own merchandise and cash.
Setup, sale hours and breakdown
- 8:00 a.m. Vendor setup begins.
- 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Open to the public. Vendors stay through closing, so please don’t pack up early on the shoppers still walking the rows.
- 4:00 p.m. Breakdown begins. Everything must be removed from the grounds by 7:00 p.m.
- Leave your space in the condition you found it. Whatever doesn’t sell goes home with you, since the Society has no place to put it.

- Firearms
- Ammunition
- Weapons of any kind
- Alcohol
- Tobacco & vaping products

- Live animals
- Counterfeit or recalled goods
Prepared food and beverages may only be sold with prior written approval from the Society.
During the sale
- Keep music and amplified sound at a volume that does not carry beyond your own space.
- Keep your merchandise, tables and shoppers inside your own footprint so the aisles stay clear.
Weather and refunds
- If we move to the rain date, Sunday, October 11, your fee carries over automatically. There’s no separate registration and nothing you need to do.
- Vendor fees are non-refundable, except where the Society cancels both the sale and the rain date.

The Bohemia Historical Society is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to vendor property, or for injury sustained on the grounds.

Questions
Can I still rent a space?
Not for this sale. Every space has been filled. Email info@bohemiahistoricalsocietyny.org and we’ll let you know when spaces open for our next one.
Do vendors take cards?
Some might, but most are neighbors clearing out a garage, not shops with card readers. Bring cash in small bills to be safe.
Is there food, and are there restrooms?
We will have food available for vendors and a food truck to purchase food. Restrooms are available in the museum during sale hours.
I’m a vendor and something came up. Can a friend take my space?
Spaces aren’t transferable, so please call or text Rebecca at (631) 804-1218 as soon as you know, and she’ll sort it out with you.
Can I donate my leftovers to the Society instead of packing them up?
The Society can only accept items that fit the museum’s collection, and those are reviewed in advance rather than on sale day. Please plan to take home whatever doesn’t sell.
Still have a question?
Rebecca is running the sale and is happy to talk it through. Call or text her, or send the Society an email and we’ll get you an answer.
