The Museum at 1519 Locust Avenue

A Permanent Home for History

When the Bohemia Historical Society set out to construct a permanent home for its growing collection, the priority was creating a secure and enduring repository. The structure is a Butler building, selected for its durability and functional design. While the building is modern — equipped with climate control to protect our fragile archives — the spirit inside is entirely historic.

A Center for Research

Beyond the exhibits, the museum building serves as the secure archive for the town’s documents. We house maps, baptismal records, and oral histories. Whether you are a student working on a project or a resident curious about the history of your own house, the museum is your starting point.
